on both subjects was more extensively communicated, it would enable
the public not only to protect themselves from disease and suffering in
both cases, but what is of more inportance, it would put them in pos-
session of the best means to select the most competent men to cure
their maladies when they fire present. With this view, I beg every
one who loves sound teeth and good health to read this work.

Dear Sir,—After examining yoUr little work, entitled a " Popular
Treatise on the Teeth," I have no hesitation in expressing a favorable
opinion of its merits, as deserving much praise, and being well calcu-
lated to do good by impressing the public with confidence alone in the
learned and scientific Practitioners of the Dental art.
Respectfully yours,
ALEX. HOSACK, M. D.
To Dr. Spqoner.
New-York, April 9, 1838.
I have read with attention and satisfaction, Dr. Spooner's work on
the teeth. Based as it is on the most scientific principles, it cannot
fail to prove of much value to the community, and ought to be in the
possession of every famfiy. Ifthe directions inculcated by the author
were strictly adhered to, much deformity and suffering would be
avoided, and even life preserved. H. CALDWELL, Surgeon,
58 Walker-street.
I have perused Dr. Spooner's work on the Teeth with much satis-
faction. I would recommend it to the public, particularly that part of
it treating of the preventive treatment of decay. The whole work is
written with much ability. S. P. WHITE, M. D.

Dear Sir,—I have read your little work, entitled " Guide to Sound
Teeth," and believe it to be a very useful publication on the diseases
of the teeth, and on the means by which those diseases may be pre-
vented or cured. Respectfully yours,
