x RECOMMENDATORY NOTICES.
From John B. Beck, M. D. Professor of Materia Medica and Medical
Jurisprudence in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, 8?c.
Dear Sir, New-York, May 10, 1838.
I have perused with much pleasure, your " Popular Treatise on the
Teeth," a copy of which you have been so kind as to present to me.
It contains a large amount of useful information in relation to a subject
of great importance to the community, and I cannot but hope that it
may have an extensive circulation.

Dear Sir,—I readily bear testimony to the value of your work. It is
rich in materials, sound in disquisition, and eminently practical in
its views. It is a contribution to knowledge which cannot fail to do
much good. Yours, respectfully,

I have examined Dr. Spooner's " Guide to Sound Teeth," and re-
gard it a popular treatise of great value.—Being himself an educated
physician, he is qualified not only to understand the character and
condition of the teeth, as local organs, but the relations which they bear
to the general system— a. circumstance which entitle his opinion to
great respect and consideration.
The impression that it is unimportant to disseminate the informaunn
which this little volume contains, is as erroneous as the belief that medi-
