in the width of the ferrnle. This should extend from the
root, below the gnm-margin, to within a line of the occlu-
sion with the antagonizing teeth. After soldering and

burnishers and suitable pliers (Fig. 154). The surface of
the band to which the cusps are to be attached should then
be brought down perfectly smooth and flat with a fine file
readjusted carefully to the root, to make sure that it has not

been so distorted by the different manipulations that it will
not pass readily to place and fit the root perfectly at every
point. Finding all correct, the next step is making the
