proofs that tiic applicant has been licensed in another State for
five years or more, such State having and maintaining a standard
equal with Minnesota, the board being the judge of the standards.
All applicati board, and must be in the hands of the secretary at least two
weeks previous to the examination. A fee of $20 must accom-
l)any each application, and is in no case returnable.
Examinations are held on the second Tuesday after the first
Monday in March and November. A special meeting is usually
held in June. All examinations are held at the Dental Depart-
ment of the State University in Minneapolis.
All applicants (except those who have been in legal practice
for five years or more in another State having and maintaining a
standard c«(ual to ours) shall be given a written examination on
the following subjects: Anatomy, physiology, chemistry, materia
medica, therai)eutics. metallurgy, pathology, oral surgery, opera-
tive dentistry, orthodontia and prosthetic dentistry.
A practical examination is given all applicants, consisting of
the preparation of a cavity and the making of a gold filling; the
preparation of a cavity and the making of a gold inlay; also an
amalgam filling; the preparation of the root and making of a
crown, for a patient supplied by the board.
All instruments and materials necessary to perform the re-
quired operations, except foot bellows, must be brought to the
examination by the ap])licant. All operations and work must
be performed at the place of meeting".
Interchange of licenses with Iowa. Illinois, Indiana, Kansas.
Nebraska, Montana. Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and District of
Ctilumbia, as far as the thei^retical examination goes; applicants
must do the practical work. Fee for reciprocity, S50.
Xo temporary licenses granted.

the State capital, Jackson, to examine applicants.
