retention of the incisors and cuspids, owing to their sloping
surfaces. When we have this condition to meet, a com-

bination of retaining fixtures, a plate for the bicuspids and
molars, and the bands and bar for the incisors and cuspids,
as indicated in Fig. 120, is the most satisfactory.
