SECTION VI.
MANNER OF MAKING PORCELAIN TEETH.
As Mr. Audibran has given the best work extant upon this
subject, I shall present to the reader the entire section devo-
ted by him to the description of the manner of making por-
celain teeth, remarking that in his formulae of ingredients
will be seen the names of many provincial earths, which, per-
haps, may not be obtained in this country. Enough is devel-
oped to determine the general principles which should gov-
ern us in their manufacture, and the perseverance of the in-
genious artist will surmount every obstacle.

We know of the pamphlet of M . Dubois Foucou, in which
we find a description of the means employed for making in-
corruptible teeth ; but in rendering justice to the merit and
views of this disinterested practician, we have already re-
marked, that the means which he employs are insufficient
and less certain. It is sometimes very difficult to procure
most of the ingredients which he makes use of. such as the
