Parmly, Dentist, of New York, himself an easy and intelligent writer, with that
urbanity and ingenuousness so peculiar to him, has added to my admiration
and respect, the most heartfelt gratitude for his cheerfully-rendered assist-
ance to the publication of this volume.
In consequence of the work's being published in New York, and the author
resident here, a few errors have obtained, which are noticed in an Errata.
To conclude : the work, with no small degree of solicitude, is humbly pre-
sented to the medical public, hoping that it may be treated with kindness,
and prove a small addition to the medical literature of our country.
