Fig. 3fi(J. Th-.- convenience points fillcl. In filling theaC; the lioliHng instrument should generally
be usecl as illustrated in Figure 342 in startini^ tilling: in the pioxiinai part cavitv mohir
tooth.
Fifl. 307. The two masses of gold in the convenience points connected by building from one to
the other along the axio-gingival line angle. In cases whore it will be more convenient, the building
along the line angle may be done before the second convenience point is filled. This building against
the a.xial and gingival walls is continued, building about equally on each, keeping the surface diagonal
to the axis of the tooth, as shown by the diagonal lines of lamination of the gold in Figure 279, until
the gingival margin is fully covered.
Fui. 3'J8. After the gingival margin of the cavity is fully covered, the surface of the gold is
squared up in the liorizontal plane and the building continued mostly along the lingual wall, as shown.
In case the filling is done from the lingual approach, this wMlI be reversed and the building will be
done first against the labial wall.
FiG. 309. As the incisal anchorage point is approached the building into it is begun and carried
on alternately with the general building in of gold, using the right-angle plugger for the puritose. In
this way. the gold may be solidly wedged in, in firm ronnectinn with the general mass of the filling.
This anchorage should not be filled independently nf the general filling of the cavity.
